SuzeOrman.com Common Sense Financial Advice

5:07 am News

Suze Orman is the financial guru for the rest of us. She gives very easy to understand; almost dumb down, financial information that many of us don’t seem to understand looking at the current credit crisis. On the web site SuzeOrman.com Orman states she is an “internationally acclaimed financial expert.” Suze Orman was also named one of Time Magazines most influential people of 2008. I like Suze Orman for her no nonsense and entertaining financial advice, but I’m not sure if she would have gotten as far as she has without making several appearances on Oprah. A lot of her advice has to do with getting out of debt, starting a nest egg, and improving your credit score. All of which I’d say is common sense… for this reason I feel Suze Orman is more of a motivational speaker getting people to do what they know they should do. Suze Orman first real job was at Merrill Lynch which is how her financial career started. She recommends Vanguard’s S&P 500 index fund (VFINX) or its Total Stock Market index fund (VTSMX). Suze Orman also recommends “Exchange-traded funds that let you own particular sectors, like iShares MSCI Emerging Markets (EEM), United States Oil Fund (USO) or the Metals & Mining SPDR (XME) (Money.CNN.com).” If Suze Orman’s common sense and entertaining approach to financial health gets people to take action than I’m all for it.
